This was one of those books which really touched me - the sort-of love story between Daphne and Mau was really believable and moving, as was the entire plot about some of the really deep questions: what makes a nation? And how do you rebuild your home after you have literally lost everything? Definitely one of the most amazing books I read as a teenager.
